PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The new 2009 US GAAP XBRL taxonomies are officially supported by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) EDGAR system. Although the SEC allowed issuers to use the 2008 taxonomy for their first mandated filing, they must use the 2009 taxonomies now. Anyone that previously created XBRL extension taxonomies and instance documents using the 2008 version will need to migrate their XBRL documents. Bowne XChanger automates this process!
If you are currently a Bowne XBRL full service client, your XBRL documents will be automatically upgraded to the 2009 taxonomies as part of our comprehensive full-service offering.
Bowne XChanger supports migrating any XBRL instance documents and extension taxonomies from one version of a taxonomy to another, but is specifically focused on helping those that need to comply with the SEC's Interactive Data reporting requirements. Once you identify the XBRL documents that need to be updated, Bowne XChanger automatically makes the technical updates in the files and provides detailed results as to what previously-used US GAAP and extension taxonomy elements (or tags) are found in the new 2009 taxonomies. The original XBRL documents are automatically backed up for reference purposes.
A complete technical and accounting review of the XBRL documents updated by Bowne XChanger can be achieved by using the Bowne Interactive XBRL Viewer.
