Want to get a head start on XBRL?
Participation in the SEC's voluntary XBRL program will help you identify future needs for your business. But how do you evaluate the program's benefits? How will participation impact you, and what does it involve?
With our partner Rivet, we can help you answer these questions.
Evaluation and Education
Bowne participated in the creation of the ICI's Risk Return taxonomy, lending both our experience and expertise. Our resident XBRL specialists, together with technology and accounting professionals from Rivet, are available to discuss the current XBRL initiatives with you. Take advantage of this opportunity to understand the future of financial reporting, the benefits of participation, and its potential impact on your business.
The investment company space has two taxonomies:
- Investment Management Taxonomy for financial data such as financial highlights and schedule of investments
- Risk Return Taxonomy for risk return data.
Participate now with Bowne and Rivet's services
Rivet's accounting and XBRL experts are ready to take your prospectus information and, with Bowne, create an XBRL filing incorporating the Investment Company Institute taxonomy today. It will have no immediate impact on your workflow, give you experience with XBRL, and make you part of the voluntary program. It's an easy way to get ready for the mandate.
Software that will give you control
Rivet's innovative blend of leading edge software applications and professional services allows you to outsource the markup process initially while developing the internal skills and technology support to bring it in-house at your own pace if that is your goal. In contrast to the other, machine-based service bureau offerings, Rivet and Bowne make sure your filing is not only accurate and customized to your needs, but also allows you to integrate it into your workflow process as XBRL gains widespread adoption.
ICI and XBRL
ICI became involved with XBRL to help empower investors to make more informed investment decisions and comparisons among different funds. It developed the taxonomy with the help of many companies including Bowne and Rivet. Work was completed early in 2007 and the SEC started accepting filings on August 20, 2007.
